How Often We Should Really Be Washing Our Bras
Written by Mums Say Radio on April 28, 2020
Ladies, you are not alone. Most of us adapt this attitue that our bras don’t need to be washed regularly, but we couldn’t be more wrong. Thankfully, the Huffington Post interviewed a Rigby & Peller boutique manager to chat about all things bras (in case you’ve never heard of Rigby & Peller, they’re a 75+-year-old UK-based lingerie company).

According to Candece Etafo, Rigby & Peller’s Fifth Avenue boutique manager, you should be washing your bras after every three wears (and those wears should never be in a row). “You’re stretching them out. Would you do that to your favorite pair of shoes? Your favorite jeans? No,” says Candece. Basically, you should be rotating your bras just like you rotate your clothing.
Before buying any new bra , one more important tip is to get measured! You should always enlist the help of a professional bra fitter. Between pregnancy, weight loss, weight gain, and simply aging, a lot can change with your breasts and your body. A bra fitter will be able to ensure you’re wearing a comfortable, well-fitting bra that provides you with support in all the right places. Now that you know these simple tips, lets get to washing our brassiere.
