Andrew Marr leaves the BBC in pursuit of a voice

This morning Andrew Marr announced that he will be leaving the BBC after 21 years of service.

“After 21 years, I have decided to move on from the BBC. I leave behind many happy memories and wonderful colleagues. But from the New Year I am moving to Global to write and present political and cultural shows, and to write for newspapers”

Andrew Marr has never been one to shy away from big stories and during his 16 years at the BBC doing the Andrew Marr Show, we have seen him interview some of the biggest figures in politics, so this natural transition to Global isn’t a surprise.
